From the base camp in Ishinca canyon there is Access to 5 mountains; 3 being urus (5,495 mt.) Ishinca (5,530) and Tocllaraju (6,034 mt.) being the most frequently climbed due to its accesability. This group of mountains is situated in the Cordillera Blanca, located northeast of the city of Huaraz.
They are very popular with tourists and climbers from all parts of the world. They do not require great technical knowledge; they have some of the most beautiful views to be found in the Cordillera Blanca from the summit of Tocllaraju portions of both the Cordillera Blanca and the Negra can be observed.
ITINERARY
- Day 1: Huaraz (3,100 mts) - Pashpa (3,600 mts) - Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts).
- Day 2: Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts) - Urus Summit (5,495 mts) - Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts).
- Day 3: Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts) - Ishinca Summit (5,530 mts) - Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts).
- Day 4: Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts) - (Relax day).
- Day 5: Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts) - Morrena Camp Tocllaraju (4,900 mts).
- Day 6: Morrena Camp Tocllaraju (4,900 mts) - Tocllaraju Summit (6,034 mts) - Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts)
- Day 7: Base Camp Ishinca (4,350 mts) - Pashpa (3,600 mts) and come back to Huaraz.
